NONVIOLENCE TOWARDS OTHERS

Pay close attention to your language and the jokes you make. It seems innocent, but it is not, because with your words you endorse certain norms and values. Write down a few things you have said and resolve not to say them again and have the courage to point out their language to others. In most religions a claim is made that they preach the only truth. But if only one group knows the truth, then everyone else is wrong. This makes you look down on others. This also applies to atheists who say they are certain that there is no God, instead of saying that they themselves do not believe in it. Can you distance yourself from claiming the truth? What major disagreements and similarities can you think of among the major religions in your community? How do people interact with each other? Can you think of translations that help us understand each other? (For example, translate ‘God’ as ‘Universal Love’).
